Gainesville High School Senior Info:

Senior Class of 2009

 

 

Senior Meeting: December 9th 2009 during 3rd period for all seniors.

 

Announcements and Caps/Gowns:

  • Orders will be taken January 12th-13th outside of the Auditorium lobby. For Santé Fe Dual Enrolled students, the Herff Jones reps will be at the SFCC campus Jan. 26th- 27th.
  • Parents may come to the Auditorium lobby 12th-13th at 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. Graduating seniors should place their orders during lunch, study hall, or free period. A deposit of $80 must be paid at the time. The deposit covers cap, gown tassel, which is $28. The remaining $52 goes towards the announcement orders. If you order more the $59 worth of announcements you may in full at that time or pay a $80 deposit and pay the balance in May when the orders come in (see Mrs. Awbrey for more info.)
  • Announcements should be here in April. Caps and gowns in May. You will be notified when they arrive. At the time you will be given a “must pick up” time or it will be returned to the company. If the balance is owed you will need to pay for it before receiving the order.

 

 

 

Blood Drive: February 12th (Valentine’s Drive)

                    Seniors are encouraged to give blood on Valentine’s Day to save millions of lives. Sign up will be a week prior to the event, during lunch. Appointment cards and reminders will be passed out on the 12th.

 

 

 

 

Grad Bash: April 25th 2009

1. Grad bash is April 25th, 2009 at Islands of Adventure/Universal Studios. Five buses will be at GHS at 4:30 p.m. to pick up all seniors.

2. The dress code will be enforced at this event. No tank tops, Tube tops, wife beaters, or revealing clothing. See manual for details. You will not be allowed on the bus if you don’t mot meet regulations.

3. Tickets will be sold February 4th – 8th in C-3 before school and during A-lunch for this event. Tickets will be $70.00.

 

Prom: May 2nd

             

Senior Awards Ceremony: Wednesday June 3rd, 2009

                   The seniors award ceremony will be in the GHS auditorium on Wednesday June 3rd, 2009 at 6 p.m. Parents and other guests are invited. Come whether you expect an award or not. You may be surprised! If you have been awarded a scholarship, please turn in your name to Mrs. Awbrey ASAP. This will appear in the program.

 

Diplomas:

                    Your diploma will be handed to you in a folder as you go across the stage at graduation. If debts have not been cleared, your Diploma will not be in the folder. If you do not attend graduation, or if your diploma is withheld, you will have to wait until that Monday to pick it up from guidance.

 

Graduation Rehearsal: Friday, June 5th 2009 at 8:30 a.m.

                     Graduation rehearsal is MANDATORY if you plan to be at graduation. Come in on the ground floor at the O’ Connell center and sit until further instructions are given. (Enter Gate 3) DO NOT bring friends or relatives to the rehearsal! DO NOT wear cap and gowns. Ladies you should wear the shoes you plan to wear to graduation so that you can gauge the length of your strides you will take with the heels you will be wearing to graduation. You will be given your matching line-up before the last day you were at school.

 

Graduation: Saturday,  June 6th 2009 at 10 a.m.

                       Report to the O’Connell Center no later than 9:15 a.m. through gate 3. Guests should enter through gate 1. Tassels should be worn on the left side of the cap. Do not change sides. No chewing gum. Boys are to wear ties and white shirts. Girls are to wear white collars with gowns. Don’t bring purses.

 

Graduation Photographs:

                       Photographs this year will be taken by Bob Knight Photos. This company specializes in commencement photography, with their gradtrak program. This process is a 100-step digital workflow that turns photographs around to you the graduate and your family in twenty hours. On the Sunday following graduation, Graduates may simply log one to www.bobknightphoto.com, enter Gainesville High School as your school name and your name for the pin. Once the sire is opened the graduate will be able to access all photographs taken at the 2009 graduation. Information cards will be passed out at the graduation rehearsal on June 5th at 8:30 a.m.
