Quick Click Week-At-A-Glance Softball Events Synopsis Four Lady Hurricanes Named To All-Area Teams (15-Jun-09) Four Varsity players, including one Captain, have been named to All-Area teams. Junior Captain Jaymi Bautista-Geiger makes her second career appearance on an All-Area list, while Grace Rohan makes her third appearance. Sophomores Ashley Burt and Jessie Ely, in their first year as Varsity players, both earned an Honorable Mention. You can click here for the full list for all classifications.
Congratulations, Ladies, and... Go 'Canes! Softball Banquet And Awards Ceremony (12-May-10) The Softball Banquet and Awards Ceremony for the 2010 Season was held at Capri Club House on Tuesday, May 11. Good food, good company, well-deserved awards, and a fond farewell to our Head Coaches and our Senior class were the order of the evening. The highlight of the evening were the heartfelt tributes given by each of the Seniors, Roxanne Hopwood, Laura Beth Dose and Kyree Dion, as the 2010 Senior Softball class bid their farewells. Good Job, Lady 'Canes! Head Coach Pete Mariano Resigns (05-May-10) Coach Pete Mariano resigned from the post of Hurricanes Softball Head Coach on Thursday, April 29. Garnering a winning record in each of his four seasons, Coach Mariano leaves the Hurricanes as the most successful head coach in program history. He earned a final record of 66-41 (.617), two postseason appearances, one District title, coached the Hurricanes to their only 20-win season in program history to-date, and was named the 2008 Gainesville Sun Softball Coach of the Year. Thank you, and we will miss you, Coach Mariano. Godspeed. News || Docs Softball on TV (30-Aug-10) Keep an eye on the Softball on TV link above, near the top of our web site, as we update it regularly. Presently, nothing is listed. Video Of Spruce Creek April 17 Game (18-May-10) The Edmonds family, who's daughter, Katie Szupello, started in the circle for Spruce Creek High School, were kind enough to provide us with video of our game with them at home on April 17. We took the footage the Edmonds sent us, and isolated each inning for individual viewing. Each inning will vary on how long it will take to load. You can watch the video while it loads. Our choices were smaller file size with less quality, or the inverse. We chose the higher quality with the larger file size. Apple Quicktime, which is free, is required in order to view the videos. If you have iTunes already installed on your computer, or if you have a Macintosh, then you also have Quicktime. Click here to go to the Apple Quicktime download page.
