Gainesville High School cheerleading:

The 2006-2007 school year has brought about many changes for the Gainesville High School Cheerleaders. Both Cheerleading squads now cheer for Basketball and Football. Our Varsity squad is under the leadership of Cierra Gordon (coach), and Peggy Meaders  (sponser). The captains of the Varsity Squad this year are Katisha Gordon, Lenedra Graham, Jessica Polke, Marissa Richardson, and Jasmine Woods. The Junior Varsity Squad is under the leadership of Peggy Meaders (sponser), and Allison Meaders (coach). This past summer both squads traveled to UCA camp at Embry Riddle University in Daytona Beach, Florida. Where at camp, the varsity squad recieved 1st place in the Home-Pom dance competition as well as the Extreme Routine. They also recieved 2nd place in the cheer Division. The Junior Varsity Squad Recieved 1st place in the Home-Pom competition, and 3rd place in the Extreme Routine competition. Both Cheerleading Squads are working really hard this year and are doing a wonderful job.
