Attention 8th Graders:

 

The Career Academy Forum is scheduled for January 12th at Buchholz High School.

 

GHS AHP Open House is scheduled for January 14rd at 6:30 pm in the Main Auditorium.

 

The Academy of Health Professions is a magnet program located on the campus of Gainesville High School.  The focus of the AHP program is to provide experience for students interested in pursuing technical training in health-related careers. The program consists of integrated curricula in applied academics and clinical experiences in health care settings. Directly following graduation, the student will be better prepared to seek employment in the health field and be able to continue education at the post secondary level.  The program articulates with the Allied Health Sciences, Nursing, Dental, Emergency Medical Services and Fire Sciences programs at Santa Fe Community College and is operated in conjunction with the health care providers of the community.

Students can be enrolled in both AHP and Cambridge.

The Selection Process consists of applying to the Academy of Health Professions (AHP) by the posted deadline in the spring of 8th grade year. The Academy is located at Gainesville High School.

Make a commitment to participate in clinicals, complete program of studies and testing in Nursing Assistant, Dental Aide, Allied Health and Emergency Medical Services program.

Your Senior year you would be able to enter into some of the careers on career page, allowing you to get a head start.

Dead Line for enrollment (8th Graders Only) is February 13th, 2009 (Post Marked).
